A manual fire alarm activation device, known as a manual operation call point (MS), allows individuals to manually activate the fire alarm system of a building.

In the event of a fire, Battery Supplied Smoke Alarms provide essential back-up to smoke detectors. When smoke or heat from a fire is detected the alarm sounds warning people in the vicinity to escape.

These devices activate on impact—often as a result of breaking a glass faceplate— or with the press of a button. Upon activation, they deploy a loud alarm and send an electrical signal to the owner’s monitoring system.

The fire alarm devices comprise the sensor elements of the fire alarm system, which indicate the occurrence of a fire and thereby trigger the fire alarm control panel to sound the evacuation alarm and alert the building occupants and the fire services.
